Michael Murphy will appear before Council to speak to Clause 1 of Report Number 11: Received from the Chief Administrative Officer (Recommend) with respect to Use of Optical Scan Vote Tabulators & Alternative Voting Methods for the Purpose of the 2026 Municipal Election, and 2026 Election Plan Enhancements and Considerations.

  • That Kingston City Council recognize the contributions of City of Kingston staff during a successful 2025 year. Municipal employees play a vital role in delivering a variety of services to Kingston residents, including but not limited to cultural services, emergency services, health and social services, infrastructure and transportation services, land use planning and environmental conservation. Municipal government represents the level of government closest to the people, and Council appreciates the importance that municipal staff at all levels place on customer service, often managing difficult situations with professionalism and empathy. Kingston City Council expresses its support for Kingston’s municipal employees and looks forward to continued excellence in 2026.
