Mr. Grange introduced the report.

Councillor Ridge asked if the interim funding agreement was intended to last until Council decides on the matter. Mr. Grange confirmed Councillor Ridge’s statement. He explained how the funding system currently works and that the City has budgeted to provide the operators enough support. He noted that the operators still had an obligation to provide the Rent Geared to Income (RGI) units. He further stated that the framework proposed by staff would ensure funding well into 2026.

There were no members of the public present.

Ms. Gibson introduced the report.

Councillor Ridge noted that there was a lot happening in the report. He asked if the numbers would be updated in the future to reflect the project at the Extendicare property. Ms. Gibson pointed to the report and the 10 projects and 244 units currently listed and confirmed that new projects would be added to that list. She stated more projects were coming in 2025. She further noted that the Extendicare property would be adding 35 new transitional beds to the system.

Mx. Hill expressed support for all of the transitional housing coming online. They emphasized how important this type of housing support is.

There were no members of the public present.

Mr. Christianson introduced the report.

Councillor Ridge asked if there were metrics for the number of low-income households that have used the program. He expressed support for the new outreach and education being done on the program and noted that it appeared to be a question of ensuring people knew about it. Mr. Christianson stated that there were metrics but that he did not have them available at the current time. He confirmed that he could share them with the Committee and that it was a fairly small number.
